Show in our gallery! Share your fine art, artisan crafts, portraits, textiles, fashion, jewelry, and more. First, Second, and Honorable Prizes awarded up to $100. Submit by  second Saturday! To enter, upload up to three image files under 5 MB. Artwork must be titled for the curator: Artist_Title_WxLxH.jpg. For example, Alice_TheWonder_8x10x2.jpg

 

Selected artwork must be dropped off at the gallery on the 2nd Friday of each month between 2 and 8 pm and picked up on the following 2nd Friday of the month from 2 to 8 pm.​ Receptions with live music and more are on Third Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm. All are invited.

La Celeste: of Earth, of Universe, of Souls

Exhibition Statement

The tale between earthly beings and their astro counterparts is older than time. Not only are humans an inevitable piece in the vast network that creates this universe, but we also physically contain star dusts: microbomes and compounds shared by the celestial bodies quietly drifting above us in the universe. So let’s feel magical.

In “La Celeste,” aka the celestial (in feminine form), Kansas City-based AANHPI artists explore humanity’s connection to the greater cosmos at the cusp of Lunar New Year. Through painting, photography, textile, sculpture, installation, and other media, participating artists will dive into their physical and metaphysical connection to the stars, inquiring upon astrology, astronomy, ecology, history, culture, family, spirituality, identity, and more. 

The collective’s core programming includes member exhibitions, cultural sessions, AANHPI book clubs, film screenings, pop-ups, and seasonal vendor fairs.
